And since November was so snowy here, this is my Textile Tuesday/November entry :}

November is a strange month of celebration and gratitude in my culture. It opens with All Soul's Day (Day of the Dead) where we remember the spirit of those that have moved on past life and rejoice at having known them. The month ends with Thanksgiving - a celebration of the living that acknowledges all that is good in life and offers gratitude. So this piece honors what has been and what is.

Kuninfelt geschmolzen und auf einen Hintergrundstoff gelegt. Darüber wurde Merinowolle in unregelmäßigen Streifen (Nebelschwaden) gelegt und schließlich mit Organza abgedeckt und gequiltet. Der Baum wurde 3D-mäßig aufgestickt.

Organza-Gewebe zwischen den Quiltlinien aufgeschnitten und bemalt.

The design was stitched onto layers of organza, then I used a soldering gun to cut the design out - then sewed it onto black velvet. (Not the best photo)
I love the Art Nouveau era - all the swirls and the lovely lines - it was such a fun, lively, extravagant and artistic movement.

Leinen mit Latexstreifen, geschmolzenes Organza, Effektgarn und alles Rote, was um mich herum greifbar war.

Zum Thema "Frau" habe ich Armstulpen genäht. Sie sind aus Polarfleece, die Rosen aus sechseckigen Fleecestücken wurden aufgenäht und mit Perlen verziert, der Länge nach zieht sich eine Spur Pailetten mit schwarzen Perlen bis zur Spitze.

Once again I would like to say thank you to all who participated so far. It is so interesting to see all the different interpretations of a theme.

Und auch heute möchte ich wieder DANKE sagen, an alle, die bisher teilgenommen haben. Es ist so interessant zu sehen, wie unterschiedlich ein Thema interpretiert werden kann.
