While walking my dogs I had the idea that nature is always waiting

for something new to come. Rain or sunshine, heat or cold.

So I chose a flower bud and did it with freemotion stitching on cotton.

The bud itself is about 12cm x 7cm.

Der Schweizer Liedermacher Peter Reber hat es auf liebenswerteste Weise beschrieben: das achte Wunder dieser Welt ist das Täschchen einer Frau. In meinen Täschchen hat nicht ganz alles Platz.
Aber für Schmuck, kleine Parfümfläschchen, Lippenstifte oder gar für einen Liebesbrief reicht es allemal.

Mein Beitrag zum Thema "Gold" ist ein Knopf geworden. Der Durchmesser beträgt ca. 4cm. Goldbrokat wurde mit einer Rückseite und Vlies seitlich miteinander verschmolzen. Der Knopf ist bestickt mit Pailetten und Perlen und einer Goldborte.

"Mein erster Akt mit dem Lötkolben"
Thema des Dienstages war "Mein erster / Meine erste". Dazu habe ich mir eine Technik ausgesucht, die ich noch nie ausprobiert habe. Untergrund ist mit Textil- und Seidenmalfarbe bemalter Poltsterstoff, darüber ein bemaltes sehr dünnes Vlies, welches geschmolzen wurde.
Aufgebracht wurde Strohseide in Hellgrün mit Hilfe von Textilpotch, das ist der Textilkleber aus der Serviettentechnik. Die grünen blätterartigen Gebilde sind die Reste einer Fleecedecke, die aufgenäht und dann mit dem Lötkolben durchlöchert wurden.
Die Quadrate sind auch aus dem Polsterstoff und ließen sich tatsächlich mit dem Lötkolben mit dem Untergrund auflöten ... allerdings habe ich sie dann doch noch sicherheitshalber aufgenäht und schließlich mit Perlen verziert. Dann wurde alles noch bestickt.

Chapter 2: Louise *knew* she had lost 40 pounds on her new diet, preparing for her showgirl debut. She just couldn't figure out what part of her body the weight had gone from, but it was as good an excuse as any to go shopping for new clothes!

10 x 15 cm Postcard - sie ist mir in den Sinn gekommen zum Thema "WASSER".

Der Hintergrund ist aus bemaltem Schabrackenvlies. Ich habe ein altes Entfärbetuch (Woolite), das schön grau war von den neuen Jeans meiner Kinder, noch mit blauer Seidenmalfarbe bemalt. Dann habe ich Flüssigkleber in Wellenvorm aufgetragen und mit Glitzerpuder bestreut. Als alles trocken war, kam weißes Organza darüber, das ich geschmolzen habe. Sieht aus wie Gischt, oder? Zum Schluss habe ich alles zusammengestellt, es kam noch ein Mond dazu, und darüber dann blaues Organza, das bestickt wurde. (heißt es eigentlich der oder das Organza?) Teilweise habe ich das Organza auch wieder weggeschnitten, damit der Mond über dem Wasser klarer scheint.
Jetzt sieht es aus wie eine stürmische Nacht an der See.

A couple of weeks ago I had a migraine aura. It did not turn into a full-blown migraine, but it did look like a softie- black and furry, with piercing pink and blue eyes and yellow-green fuss around. This is an attempt to capture the picture.

Erst dachte ich: Wie kann ich in der wunderschönen Weihnachtswoche denn Schmerz umsetzen? Aber heute hatte ich schon den ganzen Tag Schmerzen, Kopfschmerzen. Zu sonst keiner kreativen Arbeit fähig setzte ich also meinen Schmerz um. Hab ihn anscheinend herausgearbeitet :-), denn jetzt geht es mir schon viiiiel besser.
Angefangen habe ich mit geschmolzenem Tyvek, das ich schwarz lackiert habe. Dann habe ich roten Glitter darübergestreut. (Mein Nähzimmer glitzert jetzt richtig weihnachtlich ...!)Das Tyvek habe ich dann auf einen Patch aus roten Stoffen (auf Pelmet) appliziert, nachdem ich die roten Stoffe mit Embossingfarbe behandelt habe. Also Stempeldruck, Embossingpulver, dann alles auf den Toaster :-).
Zum Schluss habe ich alles zerschnitten und zackig auf gelben Untergrund genäht.
So fühlte sich das heute an!

While working on this bracelet many memories from my childhood came back to me. So this is my entry for the theme "Memories".

I started working on this while watching the movie ‘White Christmas’, so I’m sure you can figure out the connection.The postcard is made with 100% cotton sheeting. The background is painted using Pebeo Touch paints, and then I used some stitching and beads to create the feeling of falling snow.

I love the idea of the old fashioned charm bracelets. Individual charms collected throughout a life time that trigger memories specific and personal to the particular individual. This crocheted version chronicles a fictitious woman's life from her birth (pink baby shoe) to the well-earned vacations of her retirement. And, of course, there is room left on the bracelet to document the rest of what life brings her.

Der Hintergrund ist mit Seidenmalfarbe angemaltes dünnes Vlies, das auf Windelvlies aufgebügelt ist. Das Ganze ließ sich sehr gut bemalen und trocknete unregelmäßig, dadurch entstanden dann feine Risse und Falten, was richtig gut zum Wassereffekt passte.
Die Seerosen sind mit Knopflochstich appliziert, die Wellenbewegung mit Glitzergarn nachempfunden.

Hier wurde Pelmet Vilene bemalt und mit Organza bespannt und nur leicht geschmolzen. Seide aufgeheftet und ebenfalls leicht geschmolzen. Effektgarne und gefärbter Mull wurden verarbeitet und mit Stickereien versehen.

November is a strange month of celebration and gratitude in my culture. It opens with All Soul's Day (Day of the Dead) where we remember the spirit of those that have moved on past life and rejoice at having known them. The month ends with Thanksgiving - a celebration of the living that acknowledges all that is good in life and offers gratitude. So this piece honors what has been and what is.

Kuninfelt geschmolzen und auf einen Hintergrundstoff gelegt. Darüber wurde Merinowolle in unregelmäßigen Streifen (Nebelschwaden) gelegt und schließlich mit Organza abgedeckt und gequiltet. Der Baum wurde 3D-mäßig aufgestickt.

Organza-Gewebe zwischen den Quiltlinien aufgeschnitten und bemalt.
