And since November was so snowy here, this is my Textile Tuesday/November entry :}

November is a strange month of celebration and gratitude in my culture. It opens with All Soul's Day (Day of the Dead) where we remember the spirit of those that have moved on past life and rejoice at having known them. The month ends with Thanksgiving - a celebration of the living that acknowledges all that is good in life and offers gratitude. So this piece honors what has been and what is.

Kuninfelt geschmolzen und auf einen Hintergrundstoff gelegt. Darüber wurde Merinowolle in unregelmäßigen Streifen (Nebelschwaden) gelegt und schließlich mit Organza abgedeckt und gequiltet. Der Baum wurde 3D-mäßig aufgestickt.

Organza-Gewebe zwischen den Quiltlinien aufgeschnitten und bemalt.

This year november has been unusually warm. Some flowers started to bloom again while the grass around them started to fade and become brown.

Die Blätter sind dann noch ausgestopft, damit sie richitg plastisch sind.
